Campsite Utah Beach
For a lovely trip to the Normandy coast, come to the Utah Beach holiday park. This 3-star campsite in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, located in the heart of the countryside has a direct access to the landing beaches a well as various on-site activities.
At some point during your stay in the region, discover the Normandy landing beaches, Saint Mer Eglise (15km away) and of course Bayeux (60 km away).
This calm and tranquil campsite nevertheless offers the best activities of the year! Go swimming in the sea or enjoy the water sports in the pool, make the most of your stay to have fun with the family. Kids will love the Mister Flower Club, where 7-12 year old children get together Mondays to Fridays.
Come during the summer and take part in mini golf, boules, sea canoeing, sand yaughting and many other water and land activities (miss campsite, zumba fitness, etc.)! For a genuine small holiday village, Utah Beach offers a wide array of amenities (a grocery shop, restaurant etc.).
As the first village to have been liberated by the Americans two hours before the landing, Sainte Mère Eglise is one of the most important sites of the Second World War. Visit the D-Day museum in Saint-Marie-du-Mont or the Airborne museum in Sainte Mère Eglise. The Batterie d'Azeville, which is one of the first constructions of the Atlantic Wall, is also worth seeing.
Close by, don't miss the fortifications of Saint-Vaast-La-Hougue and of Tatihou, the works of Benjamin Combes following the plans of Vauban. Stroll around the regional nature park of Cotentin to explore the flora and fauna. 50km to the north, discover the Chapelle Saint-Germain, which dates back to the 10th century. Majestically dominating the Cherbourg harbour you find the most ancient religious building of Cotentin, built on the remains of an early Christian temple. A visit of La Hague is highly recommended. Its unique panorama, the sea spray and its many migratory birds will make you forget the stress of everyday life. On the return journey, stop by the small village of Gréville la Hague and visit the birthplace of the painter Jean-François Millet. At Omonville-la-petite, enter the house of Jacques Prévert, where the poet lived until 1977. Brighten up your trip with a gastronomic stop at Valognes, nicknamed le Versailles Normand. The presses and the mills from the 16th to 20th centuries will uncover the secrets of the "Blond gold of the Normans".
